Contractually Obligated Newsletter

Hey Gang,

Well it’s been a month-ish, time for a newsletter! While I’ve nearly gotten to the point where I’m ready for alpha/beta readers, I haven’t found a good solution to allowing people to read and getting feedback. Obviously Google Docs is an option, but it’s a bit of a hassle. Either you create one doc everyone posts in—potentially influencing other people’s feedback—or you create a doc per person, which is time consuming. Instead, I did what any good writer/developer would do and I created an app to post chapters and collect feedback. I hope to use that to great success, possibly even creating a version for others to use, we’ll see.

Project Updates

Speaking of project, I’m about 50% complete with the first draft, though that’s not entirely true because I’ve been editing as I go here & there. Please don’t tell Hemingway.

My word count was a bit light when I hit the halfway mark, so much of what I’ve been doing is adding to what I have. Nothing that doesn’t need to be there, but apparently I haven’t described enough descriptions. So I’m describing away.

Books I’ve Read

So when I started out I thought it’d be fun to include the books I’ve read since our last encounter. I’m not going to lie, I’ve read a lot of books. I’m not going to list them all. I’m at like 50 books for the year and I still have a long reading list. If you want to keep up, just follow me on Goodreads like a normal stalker, thank you very much.
